Joan Margalef

Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and Barcelona School of Economics. My studies are supervised by Pau Milán and Hannes Mueller. Beyond academia, I have served as a Research Consultant for Open Philanthropy and the German Federal Foreign Office.

I am versatile in my research, combining applied and theoretical models to address real-world economic challenges. My work ranges from developing methods to assess disaster risks using financial data, measuring the economic impact of conflict, and understanding international tax evasion.

  • Research Interests: Financial Economics, Public Economics, Conflict and Development.
